Sharka Hyland was born in Czechoslovakia. Since 1992 she has lived and worked in Philadelphia, USA. Hyland was awarded her MFA from Yale University School of Art in graphic design (1988). She studied Art History at École du Louvre, Paris, (1992) and comparative literature at Albert-Ludwig University, Freiburg, Germany (1983).
Hyland’s drawings have been exhibited in group and solo shows nationally and internationally. Her most recent solo exhibitions include « La Fin du monde filmée par l’Ange Notre-Dame » at Galerie Bernard Jordan in Paris (2020) and « Bilder » at Galerie Dittmar in Berlin, Germany (2023).
